This guide (No. 2 of the collection Experiences of critical thinking in the classroom) results from the ECP’s desire to accompany and support teachers and schools committed to peace education to carry out innovative projects that can be an example for other schools and colleagues. You will find three sections:

1. An introduction to the key theoretical contents on the interrelationship between armed conflicts, pandemic and gender dimension.
2. An introduction to the methodology of controversial dialogue in the classroom as an educational strategy to manage discrepancy and encourage critical thinking.
3. The description of a didactic experience that includes the experience of the secondary school Ca n’Oriac (Sabadell, Catalonia) based on its project “The Great War” with the students of the two groups of 4th grade of compulsory secondary education (ESO) (academic year 2021-2022).

“Women, Peace and Security”

This project is the result of a collaboration between the Escola de Cultura de Pau and the Lliga dels Drets dels Pobles and it aims to raise awareness of the women, peace and security agenda, to highlight its importance for sustainable and inclusive peacebuilding and to promote its full implementation.

The project website (in Catalan) includes teaching resources such as teaching units and a community service proposal; and quick guides on the international agenda of women, peace and security, among other resources.
